Satan's will to destroy God's creation, and our role; and more

A few years ago I was having a conversation with some Christian friends of mine on a drive from San Luis Obispo, CA to Yosemite about guns and the environment. When I read about Jesus, or John The Baptist and the Essenes, I see a very peaceful ideology. Constantly Jesus says "love one another," "help one another," "He who lives by the sword dies by the sword," etc. But the constant theme of his message was Love. When asked what the most important commandments were, he responded with 'Love God, Love others' (Matthew 22:34-40).
Now to me, in order to actually do this, one must love nature and each other.
If we are to Love God, we must love every thing about Him. Which includes that which He created. How is it that so many Christians have a care-free attitude towards the Earth? I know too many Christians who don't think we need to take care of this planet because "God gave it to us to use as we see fit," or "Christ is going to return soon anyways," or "God's in control, it will sort itself out." To me this is not showing Love to God. If I borrow someone's car for an extended period, I'll be sure to keep the car clean, and return it with a full tank of gas. If I'm at someone's house, I don't trash it, and I'll usually help clean up. I do this because I have respect for the owner of the car or house. When I would borrow CDs, I'd always take extra good care of them. Now, God has lent us this world, and we're supposed to Love Him, not just respect Him. And this world was created by that which we are supposed to Love, therefore we should love that creation.

So this morning it dawned on me that if Loving God means taking care of His creation, and there is so much either apathy or even opposition to protecting Creation, then it must be the work of Satan. At least a Christian should view it that way.

There is scientific proof that pollution is causing damage to this planet and all of it's inhabitants (from man to plankton). If we Love God we must Love His creation, and must protect it, all of it. If we don't, we are sinning! By disregarding Creation we are disregarding an aspect of God, and not following His commands, and therefore are in sin: by not protecting the environment.

And Jesus also said to "Love others." In order to do that we must do so actively. Helping those who are less fortunate, no matter what the reason they are where they are at. In Jesus' parable of the Sheep and the Goats (Matt. 25-31-46), he says we should take care of everyone, especially those who don't have as comfortable a life as ourselves. Refusing to help the poor when you're able to is a sin. It doesn't matter why the person is in need, we are to help when we can (Luke 3:11). Additionally, if we are to love each other we must do things to make life more comfortable to live, which also means creating a healthy environment, not just globally, but locally as well.
And we must also be kind to one another. Being kind to one another also includes not being violent, and not supporting violence. Violence of any sort is a sin. War is a sin. Guns (non-hunting-for-food-guns) are sin.

As Christians we must be better. We must protect each other and the environment. We must Love God's creation, all of it.

Teacher or Messaiah?

Buddha never claimed to be God. Moses never claimed to be Jehovah. Mohammed never claimed to be Allah. Yet Jesus Christ claimed to be the true and living God. Buddha simply said, "I am a teacher in search of the truth." Jesus said, "I am the Truth." Confucius said, "I never claimed to be holy." Jesus said, "Who convicts me of sin?" Mohammed said, "Unless God throws his cloak of mercy over me, I have no hope." Jesus said, "Unless you believe in me, you will die in your sins."

Ohio School Shooting... :'(

A few days ago there was a school shooting in Ohio, with three dead. Surprised I didn't see any memorial comments on Facebook. Perhaps people are like me and don't watch the news very often. My heart goes out to the families and to the school in this tragedy. How soon do we forget our history? and why do we allow for this to happen again? I don't care how responsible you think you are with guns, or how responsible you think your neighbor is, this is what guns do, they kill. I don't care how rare these events are, it happened. I'm sure the parents of the 17 year old thought they were responsible. Any argument of "don't let the few ruin it for the majority," I will call Bull Sh!t (sorry for swearing, but nothing less expresses my anger over that argument and this issue). After an event like this, anyone who still thinks they can support ownership of guns by the public has no respect from me. (if you want to go hunting, rent a gun for the trip and then return it)
True gun responsibility is not owning one. If you don't own one, then it can't be used for murder. If you own one, you are taking a risk, no matter how small, of it being used to extinguish the life of another Human. And if someone doesn't care that someone was killed, then that person is not Human.
Be responsible, be Human, do your part to end violence, don't own a gun, and vote in support of gun control. Gun control reduces the risk of kids being murdered.

How can we ignore death?

My prayers are with Syria. I can't fathom people blowing up other people. I wish I could physically do something to help stop it. We can't be wise people while this kind of violence and oppression takes place in our world. Doesn't matter if it's not happening to us, it's happening to someone. Someone is being injured or killed, or having loved ones blown up right in front of them. These are people that have feelings and emotions, joys and struggles, just like we do. I don't like military, and I don't like how big of a budget they have, but I would fully support any effort that our military made to free the people of Syria from their gov't. There are people being murdered, as I type this; lives are being lost. Real people, humans, thinking and feeling, people. Someone who if you met you'd want to be friends with.

I'd also invite people to count how many background people are killed in your favorite, and not so favorite, action movies. And contemplate that those represent real people, who you just watched being shot down or vaporized.

Moms

Moms are the most God/Christ-like people you will ever meet. They love their children unconditionally (for the most part). They would lay down their lives for their children. They have a plan in mind for your life. They are sad when you misbehave. They can feed many mouths will little food. They know when your guilty, even without you admitting what you did. They serve those whom they are teaching.
