Its been a while, let's get philosophical...

Ok, so, its true, I don't post very often, hardly ever, in fact its been about a year since I posted anything, and that was just some stupid cat video. Why? because life is in flux and complicated, and distracting, and I get wrapped up in ranting on Facebook instead of here, or on other blogs. So, again, trying to do what I should do, or figure out what I should do, etc. Getting back to my roots, here, on this blog, posting my own philosophies in a longer fashion, and preparation for a book I should probably someday write. Which is another thing I've been working on, unrelated to philosophy exactly, I'm writing a fantasy world which if I can keep up with it should rival or tower over Tolkien and Martin, and all these video games. Someday, long ways to go, and too distracted, but I keep going step by step....when the brain works, which is far too rare--thank you ADD.

Anyways, time to do some pondering, and ranting and some stream of thought on a few various topics that have been plaguing my thoughts of late.

So, probably should start off with blogging itself, and the role of school education...
What were we taught in school? to do research and write reports, or how to memorize things and fill in test answers, and then to select the best answer. Blogging is about writing, about journaling, blogging is what our society is currently growing on. For me, growing up, keeping a daily journal was the most difficult thing in the world--well, any daily routine was a challenge. Writing was also a challenge for me, it was stressful, but if I could use a computer I did quite well; of course I wasn't allowed to use one for it always because the level of technology available wasn't conducive--laptops were still monstrosities. No one explained the livelong need for the ability to journal daily, I suppose we couldn't have imagined that everyone would be sharing their journals on the internet for the world to hopefully see and that this would be how so many people make money.
I hope schools are stressing the current importance of blogging, and how to start one that makes money, which is something that I'm not able to understand... Bllaaarrrrggg...

yeah, sure, ....
Something a little more deep? guns? racism? religion? marriage and other equal rights? OK!

I suppose if we're going to talk about guns, we really should be talking about violence instead. I have no problem with hunting guns, or a gun to protect your family and property, but you don't need an arsenal--though, I suppose if you're planning to arm your neighbors when the zombies rise up.........Ok, I just justified owning an arsenal...oh well. Anyways, no, you don't need that much, all it does it create further paranoia by the government and of the people about the government. It creates more problems then it solves. It creates a huge safety hazard. Arguments such as "cars cause more deaths, ban cars" is BS; that's why we create safety laws for cars: crash tests, seat belts, air bags, speed limits, driver's test (which should be more restrictive, imo), and why vehicles must have insurance. Most gun owners are decent people, who are responsible, but there must be rules to make sure that it is the responsible people that own them. Guns are designed specifically to kill, it is a tool of murder, whether that murder is in self defense or attack. Murder, death, kill. If you think a gun is for self defense and not for murder, then get a non-lethal weapon. That is, unless we're talking about hunting for food, you don't need a weapon that is designed to kill its target, you need one that is designed to incapacitate the target.

Racism? please, if you insult another person based on their appearance, or make assumptions about someone, etc., you are really just an asshole. Forget the pretty language of calling it "racism" its called being a disrespectful asshole, a bully, a douchebag, ignorant bigot, prick, and many other things. The mere thought of hating someone because they are different is mindboggling to me. And the ignorance to its prevalence is maddening. Do people not see themselves? how can they possibly think that its ok to treat another person like shit??! And then they wave the "don't tread on me" flag, and tread all over those they disagree with. The worst treaders are those who don't want to be trodden on. And they don't see it!!!

Religion? You believe your God is the God that created the universe, right? Created everything, and everyone, that ever was, is or will be. So, when you hate another person, you're hating an aspect of God's creation. If you don't believe that, then your god is not God.You really think God wants you to kill members of his creation because they don't believe? What happens when non-believers die? they go to hell. That means their souls are not being saved. By killing a non-believer you are standing in the way of God's Will, not enforcing it. Hating non-believers does not bring them to God, it drives them away from God, and Satan wins. When anti-gay speak is cheered that is the sound of Hell rejoicing, not the sounds of Heaven.

Why does someone else's marriage affect you? Is your life impacted by other people walking around on the street? Religious laws are for religious people. If you tell someone else they can't love, then you're hateful. Keep to your own business. And if someone comes in to your business that you don't want to serve, at least be respectful and offer alternatives. That's called being a decent human.

The United States of America was supposed to be a land where all people were treated equally, with respect, given equal opportunity to thrive. At least, that's what what talked about in the 90s. We were so close, why did we have to fall to fear? Instead of being home of the brave, we've become home of the paranoid and hateful. We are less of a Union and we have become divided over too many things, and we are unwilling to compromise and work together to find common logical ground based on facts instead of fear and emotion, and name calling. If we want to make America great again, we need to learn to work together, to get along. Greatness comes not from division, but from unity.
